  My mother, Donna, was the one who jump-started this endeavor. She had worked in several creative industries throughout her life (including fashion, hair, and interior decorating) had watched me bake for therapeutic reasons in between bouts of studying during my university career. She decided to enroll the two of us in a five-week intensive Confectionary Arts program at the Bonnie Gordon School in Toronto in the summer of 2009. Through this experience we became sure that this was what we were meant to do. While I returned to the University of Toronto to finish my final year and receive my degree in Fine Art History, we began planning Coco Cake Co. and my mother continued to expand on our repertoire of confections and baking skills by taking courses at George Brown College.


  Everything we produce is freshly scratch-baked on the premises with high-quality ingredients by my mother and I. Our design inspiration comes from a variety of sources such as fashion, textiles, and graphic design, and we pride ourselves on our clean manner of working and our attention to detail. We are sincerely looking forward to serving Durham Region and the GTA and hope you think of Coco Cake Co. when you are planning your special occasions or even when you're just craving a cupcake!
